A group of pupils from our 1st class have been taking part in healthy living workshops in recent weeks. They are learning about what kinds of foods to eat and why, and hence learning how to fuel their bodies for a healthy lifestyle.

So far, workshops have involved walking to organic food stores and farmers markets to purchase fruit, vegetables, cheese and fresh bread. Back at school, pupils have enjoyed eating the healthy snacks and even feeding their blindfolded classmates, and seeing if their classmates could guess what food they were eating!

The workshops are intended to complement what pupils have been learning about in global studies biology, in which the human body has been a key focus this year. The pupils who have registered for this particular series of workshops have a range of interests but one thing in common: they believe a healthy lifestyle will help them in school, in their hobbies and in whatever they decide to do in the future!
