During September’s reading week, 2D was fortunate to be able to take part in a cricket workshop run by Mr Walter Blaschke, vice-chairman of the Austria Cricket Club in Vienna.
Pupils warmed up and practised the skills required for cricket by playing a series of fun team games involving a wind-ball and cricket stumps, which was followed by batting practice and finally a match. For most of the class, this was the first time they had played the game, and they learnt that it is a game of patience as well as involving team skills, running and fast reactions.
We look forward to working with Mr Blaschke again in future and hope to give other classes the chance to play this most English of team sports!
