On October 17th some of our puplis participated in a holocaust reading marathon organised by the Vienna Project (http://theviennaproject.org). Whilst it was raining cats and dogs our pupils read out letters of victims and survivors of the holocaust in German als well as in English at the Romaplatz, am Bruckhaufen, 1210 Vienna.

To emphasize the importance of this area to the Roma and Sinti community, three roads were renamed in September 2001 and dedicated to the strongly heterogeneous Roma community – the Romaplatz, the Lovaraweg and the Sintiweg. The Romaplatz is situated on the Bruckhaufen in Floridsdorf between the Birnersteig and the Sintiweg, separated from of Old Danube only by a meadow. In 2001 a path on the Bruckhaufen in Floridsdorf was renamed Lovaraweg, to point out the significance of this area to the Lovara clan. In 2001 another path in Bruckhaufen was renamed Sintiweg in honor of the Sinti and the Sintizzi. The Sijntiweg is located between the Romaplatz and the Lovaraweg and runs parallel to the Old Danube.

Am 17.10.2014 nahmen ausgewählte Schülerinnen und Schüler unserer 4. Klassen am Holocaust Lesemarathon im Rahmen des Vienna Project (http://theviennaproject.org) teil.

Bei teils strömenden Regen wurden Briefe, sowohl von Opfern, als auch von Überlebenden des Holocausts, großteils in deutscher, aber auch in englischer Sprache, am uns zugeteilten Ort, dem Romaplatz, am Bruckhaufen, 1210 Wien, öffentlich vorgelesen. 

Um auf die Bedeutung dieses Gebietes für die Roma- und Sinti-Community zu hinzuweisen, wurden im September 2001 drei Verkehrsflächen der sehr heterogenen Roma-Community gewidmet – der Romaplatz, der Lovaraweg und der Sintiweg. Der Romaplatz befindet sich am Bruckhaufen in Floridsdorf zwischen dem Birnersteig und dem Sintiweg – nur eine Wiese trennt ihn von der Alten Donau. 2001 wurde am Bruckhaufen in Floridsdorf ein Weg in Lovaraweg umbenannt, um auf die Bedeutung dieses Gebietes für die Gruppe der Lovara hinzuweisen.

2001 wurde ein Weg am Bruckhaufen zu Ehren der Sinti und Sintizzi in Sintiweg umbenannt.  Der Sintiweg, der sich zwischen Romaplatz und Lovaraweg befindet, verläuft parallel zur Alten Donau.
