4B visit to GEPS Meißnergasse

On Wednesday 8th May, 4B visited the Global Education Primary School in the Meißnergasse, in order to read English storybooks to pupils there.

This was the "second part" of a reading exchange programme between the two schools which had begun earlier this year, with the primary pupils visiting 4B here at KO50. When we were invited to their school, how could we refuse! This time the Meißnergasse pupils chose some of their favourite books for 4B to prepare in advance of the visit. The morning of the 8th May was spent reading to the younger pupils from class 2A at the Meißnergasse, with some of the younger children also taking turns to read in English to 4B, and others swapping partners one or more times in order to read different stories.

We look forward to arranging similar events next year with GEPS Meißnergasse, as part of what has so far been a fun and interesting CONNECT programme which involves KO50 pupils learning and working with pupils from nearby primary schools which, like us, have dual language programmes.

"It was a great day with the children. They were so cute. We had a lot of fun with them, and we read a book with a clock called "What time is it Peter Rabbit?" I read this book to four different children and I think they also enjoyed reading with us." – Moon Shikader 4B

"We read a book to the children and asked them questions. I liked it because the teachers were great. I think the children enjoyed it because to me they seemed very friendly." – Burak 4B

"Meißnergasse was very nice. The kids enjoyed it and some of them also wanted to read some of the book. I thought they were very nice at the school." – Samet 4B
