On 24th April, 3a visited the VBS Schüttaustraße and took part in a reading treasure hunt. They worked in pairs and read clues in English. They had to answer questions and do fun activities together to win the treasure! Both schools enjoyed this CONNECT experience, and huge thanks go to Lissette Waldenberger and her colleagues at the Schüttaustraße for their fantastic organisation! We look forward to VBS Schüttaustraße pupils coming to visit us again here soon at KO50.

Connect VS Kaisermühlen-NMS Konstanziagasse 50
Lissette Waldenberger
OVS Kaisermühlen
May 5th, 2014
Our Spring Connect Program 2014 activity was ‘The Treasure Search’. Konstanziagasse pupils came to our school on April 24th and we all enjoyed 2 hours of fun moments together in our lovely garden!
OVS Kaisermühlen and VBS 4 hosted this year’s Connect activity. Students from both schools were paired-up and had to find their tasks all throughout our garden. Tasks included hugging a maple tree for 180 seconds, writing the planets backwards and in backward order, solving funny riddles, or tying one’s leg with one’s partner’s leg and really CONNECTing. The two hours flew by, students got to move a lot in the fresh air and speak to their partners in English the whole time!
All teachers there from both schools enjoyed seeing their students in a completely different environment and situation. Even though the whole thing was a complete surprise to the VBS 4 students, they showed enthusiasm, commitment and engagement throughout the whole activity.
Previous students from our school who are now at Konstanziagasse, loved visiting their ‘old’ school and teachers again!
In the end everyone was rewarded with pleasant compliments, gratitude, lots of smiles and some yummy sweets left over from the Easter Bunny J
VS Kaisermühlen and Konstanziagasse are looking forward to future CONNECTions, whether inside the school in the classroom or library, or outside in the garden or the baseball field.
